Mission Critical

Client: Deutsche Bank
Main Contractor: TClarke
Location: Central London
Sector: Banking
Duration: 3 months
Value: £480,000

Project Brief:

TClarke and Nationwide were awarded the Mission Critical project at Deutsche Bank, 1 Appold Street which involved the removal of two off comms rooms chillers and installing new pump sets, pipe work and headers in their place to save energy. All works were undertaken at night only with no downtime on any system.

Four new Mitsubishi Electric VRF systems with 28 fan coils were installed in the building and Comms Rooms. Each Comms Room had a new chilled water fan coil unit and two fan coils from each VRF on separate circuits providing three points of failure and back up. Full leak detection was installed in each room. A centralised controller was installed for the VRF system which was connected to a new BMS.

The roof plant was fully 3D modelled and pipe work prefabricated prior to commencing on site which allowed for a shorter duration of works.

The whole chilled water system was flushed and balanced live to BSRIA standards with no downtime on the chilled water circuit.
